Here, nestled is a historic haveli (mansion), lies a legacy waiting to be rediscovered – the story of the Saklana's, the Muafidars. A Grant from Royalty: The Rise of the Muafidars The Saklana family history stretches back to the 17th century. Delving into their past, the family unearthed a remarkable tale. One of their ancestors, in the 1600s, received a substantial jagir (land grant) from the ruling king of Tehri. This bestowed upon them the prestigious title of Muafidars, entrusting them with the responsibility of collecting taxes across a vast area encompassing 128 villages, stretching from Chamba to the Dehradun Valley.

Unearthing Treasures: Artifacts and Ancestral Glory As the family delved deeper into their roots, they stumbled upon a treasure trove of artifacts and fascinating facts. These historical remnants whispered stories of the Saklana's' illustrious past:
